The aims and objectives of Vaddapally Vivekamma Charitable Trust are formally inscribed in our Trust Deed, registered on 30th April 2024. They define the scope of our work, the communities we serve, and the principles that guide every decision we make. These objectives were not written as formalities. They were written by someone who had already been doing this work for years, and who wanted to build an institution that could continue, expand, and deepen that work over generations.
Healthcare and Medical Services
The Trust is committed to providing medicines and basic provisions to underprivileged people who cannot afford them. Beyond emergency distribution, we aim to establish a sustained healthcare support system that includes health education, training, and awareness programmes on hygiene, nutrition, immunization, mother and child care, and disease prevention. We run health clinics and plan to establish mobile medical units to reach communities that are too isolated or too poor to access hospitals on their own. Our healthcare work is guided by the belief that preventive care and early intervention save lives and reduce the enormous human and economic cost of untreated illness.
Women Empowerment and Gender Equality
VVCT has a deep commitment to the rights, dignity, and independence of women. Our objectives include running integrated programmes for women's empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and gender equality. We recognise that in many of the communities we serve, women bear the heaviest burdens while having the least access to resources and support. Changing this is not optional for us. It is central to our mission.
De-Addiction and Social Behaviour
We aim to establish and run counseling and de-addiction centres for people struggling with alcohol dependency, because addiction is one of the most destructive forces in low-income households. We also run awareness programmes on social behaviour and personality development, helping individuals in our communities build better relationships with themselves, their families, and their neighbours.
Education and Scholarships
One of our foundational objectives is to establish and maintain educational institutions that provide academic and technical education at all levels. We provide assistance to students who cannot afford to continue their studies, and we run scholarship and funding programmes specifically designed for poor and needy students. Our aim is to make it financially possible for every deserving child and young person in our communities to receive the education they are capable of.
Orphanages, Old Age Homes, and Widow Welfare
The Trust is formally committed to establishing orphanages, old age homes, and homes for widows, helpless persons, and those from the weakest sections of society. These are not aspirational goals. They are the concrete infrastructure of care that we are building, because there is currently no adequate system providing this kind of care to the most vulnerable in our district.
Environment and Natural Heritage
Our objectives extend beyond human welfare to include the protection of the natural environment. We work in the areas of climate change awareness, solid waste management, disaster mitigation, watershed development, and promotion of eco-friendly products and practices. We believe that sustainable communities are ones that live in balance with their natural surroundings, and we aim to build that awareness from the ground up.
Human Rights and Legal Aid
Many poor families in India are denied their rights simply because they do not know those rights exist, or because they cannot afford legal help to assert them. VVCT is committed to protecting human rights through awareness campaigns and by providing free legal aid to people who need it but cannot pay for it.
Skill Development and Livelihoods
The Trust runs skill development training programmes specifically designed for the self-employment of women and educated but unemployed youth. We work for adult education as well, recognising that learning does not end with childhood. Giving people practical, income-generating skills is one of the most direct routes out of poverty, and this work is therefore one of our highest priorities.
Funding and Partnerships
VVCT is authorised and committed to receiving grants from state and central government departments, corporate organisations under CSR frameworks, and international funding bodies. All such funds are used exclusively for the advancement of the Trust's charitable objectives. No portion of the Trust's income is distributed among trustees or used for personal benefit of any kind.
Universal Access
The benefits of all the Trust's programmes and services are available to every person regardless of their caste, creed, religion, or gender. VVCT serves all communities equally, and this principle of universal access is non-negotiable and written into the founding deed of the organisation. Our work extends across all of India, and our office can be set up wherever the majority of trustees decide it is needed.
