The mission of Vaddapally Vivekamma Charitable Trust is to work at the grassroots level, in direct partnership with underserved communities, to build the conditions for a dignified and sustainable life. We are not a distant organisation that sends aid from afar. We are present in the communities we serve — our team has sat in those homes, walked those lanes, and understood those struggles from the inside. Our mission is shaped by that closeness.
Our core work is to deliver integrated support — which means addressing multiple needs simultaneously rather than offering one-dimensional relief. Healthcare alone does not solve poverty if the children are not in school. Education alone does not transform a community if the mother has no income and the grandfather is ill and alone. This is why our mission encompasses healthcare, education, elderly care, orphan protection, women's welfare, skill development, and basic needs support together, under one coherent framework.
In healthcare, our mission is to ensure that no family in the slum areas of Medchal-Malkajgiri District avoids or delays medical treatment because they cannot afford it. We work to bring doctors to communities, to distribute medicines freely, to conduct screening camps for early detection of diseases, and to build towards a full-service charitable hospital that will serve the poorest residents of this district at little or no cost.
In education, our mission is to ensure that poverty does not end a child's schooling. We identify children who have dropped out or never enrolled, we provide learning materials and academic support, and we work to create school environments that are welcoming, resource-rich, and genuinely supportive of children from the most difficult backgrounds. No child should grow up illiterate because their family could not afford books.
For the elderly, our mission is simple and non-negotiable: no one should be abandoned. We are building old age homes and care systems that give senior citizens a safe home, regular meals, medical attention, and the dignity of being cared for. For orphaned children, our mission is equally clear: every child deserves protection, stability, and the chance to develop into a healthy, educated, confident adult.
For widows and single women in vulnerable situations, our mission is to restore their economic footing and social standing. Through direct financial assistance and connections to government welfare schemes, we aim to help women who have lost their primary breadwinners to rebuild their lives without falling into permanent poverty.
For unemployed youth and women across the district, our mission is to provide real, practical, and employable skills. Not classroom theory, but hands-on training that leads to actual jobs or self-employment. We want to help young people break out of the cycle of low-wage informal labour and build livelihoods that give them both income and a sense of agency over their futures.
Underlying all of this is a mission of awareness and empowerment. Many families we work with are unaware of the government schemes and entitlements available to them. Part of our mission is to bridge that information gap, to help people access what they are legally entitled to, and to strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves.
